Hello RHA people!

Just a friendly reminder that elections will be this upcoming Monday! You can still nominate people before we begin elections and close nominations via online or in the meeting. Also expect a funding request from Juliana Gonzalez, an assembly member, for Terrace Rocks... part deux! They are requesting money to cover a projector charge from ITS to help them throw their event but you'll hear more about that from them! Remember we have this meeting and the next to hear funding requests and remember that even last minute nominations will present at this Monday's election with NO exceptions... not even me... not that I need one because I'm prepared to ROCK YOUR SOX! Vote Julia for president!!!

Moose love,
and RHA love a plenty

FEST OF SEXUAL KNOWLEDGE!

Look familiar? You should see these posters all around your halls, and if you haven't let us know so we can fill in the gaps! Regardless, Sex Fest will be April 8 from 7-9 in IC Square and I know everyone has so been looking forward to it so HERE IT IS! There will be presentations from groups on campus like SAFER and also a plethora of sexual knowledge you never knew presented to you via RHA! So come, bring your friends, tell your friends, your animals and your bosses and cohorts! BRING EVERYONE YOU KNOW! See you in the pub on wednesday!

HOUSING NIGHTS

As most of you know RHA and Linda Koenig from the Office of Residential Life have teamed up to help you the residents of Ithaca College solve your housing issues and address your concerns! We set up two nights, the first is Monday April 6 at 7pm in textor 103, and the second will be on Monday April 13 at 7pm in the Klingenstein lounge. If you or some of your friends are really concerned with how housing selection went and have anything you would like to say AT ALL regarding housing you should come to at least one of these nights (and tell all your friends the same)! See you soon!!!

GAME NIGHT!!!

Hello lovely assembly!
So we have our next social event listed down with a date and everything! :-) GAME NIGHT will be on Wednesday evening at 7 o clock SHARP (sort of) in Clark and Klingenstein lounges downstairs in campus center. If you walk in the smoothie place is on the left and the information desk is on the right and just head straight back and you will see a bunch of people eating good food and having a great time! I would also like to remind you to get those I Am Diverse! sheets filled out and turned in as the deadline is quickly approaching us. Also do not forget that elections are coming up soon and consider your options and your future with RHA and if you want to kick up your involvement with eboard a bit! Last and certainly not least, Relay For Life deadlines are also approaching quickly! Register and fundraise because the night is going to be absolutely fantastic and will be that much more significant to you if you are there, a vip member, or just helped support an amazing night. I have to say, my experience with RHA last year was one of the most memorable nights in college I have had so far! Other than that we will see you Monday night! More updates to come soon keep checking back!

HAVE FUN AT CONFERENCE THIS WEEKEND!!! NE -NE -NE TO THE A, A -A -A TO THE CURH, NE TO THE A, A TO THE CURH NE-A-CURH!

...USE ME!

Hey all,
just got out of a meeting with IC's Vice President for student affairs and campus life, and it got me thinking I should remind assembly members, the E board, and residents that I am connected with many people, and this makes it okay to think of me as a resource!

Here's a brief summary of people and groups I stay in contact with:
Student Affairs and Campus Life (SACL)--we talk about issues that affect students living on campus. This includes services, public health, safety, housing issues, and more. If it pertains to students doing any kind of business on campus--this is the connection!

Residential Life--This is a part of SACL, but focuses on anything having to do with the operation and housing in the on-campus experience.

Student Government Association (SGA)--makes recommendations to the administration and keeps in contact with students regarding issues of academics, campus life and current issues

National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)--participate most directly with the North East Affiliate (called NEACURH). The world's largest student-run organization is a network of student-run residential organizations on college campuses mostly througout the nation. This is a great source of connections to see how problems are solved on other campus and to generate great ideas about creating the best on-campus living experience.

These are the most important ones, but feel free to contact me if you're looking for answers and information!

Cole

More lunches!

Hey all,
Do not forget we have another lunch date tomorrow! Because the first one went so well and we all want to see so much more of each other outside of that dreary meeting room!!! Other than that we've got some good funding requests coming up tonight as well as Linda Koenig, assistant director of housing services and communication, coming in to speak to us about learning communities and other fun little tidbits! Don't forget to seek out your eboard member you are working with for other speakers to come in and keep an eye out for National Conference applications coming out soon!

Alrighty, second post today and still going strong!

It's a fight to the... well not death but something similar so duke it out! Don't forget to invite everyone to our facebook group!

Funding Request considerations

Hey all,
Our last meeting was a little packed in terms of funding requests and business of that nature. As we decided to ask OALC to come back with more concrete numbers, what you should be thinking about is a confirmation of what kind of numbers, how much we want to give him unless we want to give per resident, and how many residents will be involved. Since the program is March 1 we really need to make decisions here and we do not typically ask a presenter to come back again once they have presented. My advice to you is to consolidate your own thoughts and figure out what you need to know to decide what to give this program. That being said there will be another request from Terraces 5-8 for a Planned Parenthood speaker to come in and food, they are requestiong $100. You all have a lot to think about so prepare for a fantastic meeting next monday!

See you then,

Funding Requests!

Hello darlings,
I had a pleasant afternoon at our lunch last week and we all decided in EBoard that we want more of those fantastic luncheons! Moving along we have a packed meeting tonight with three funding requests. Our first will be from yours truly, I'm planning a pancake dinner/movie night for my floor and am requesting $25 and inviting anyone who wants some pancakes! Secondly we will hear from the whole of the West Tower from Ruthie Goff, our SGA representative and she is presenting a Winter Carnival program and requesting $250. Lastly we will hear from the Outdoor Adventure Learning community from Andrew Casler who is requesting $1,000 to take his floor on a ski trip to Bristol Mountain in Rochester, NY.

That said, we will see you tonight for an amazing meeting and some great discussion and a budget update!
Love you all,

OUTSIDE FUN!

Hey all!
Hope you didn't forget but just to remind you we are meeting for lunch today in the pub at 12. Get grab and go and bring it with you, check out la vincita on webfood.com, or get something from that assortment of goodness on the other side. Whatever you decide to eat, we will see you at 12 with your RHA t-shirt and a ridiculously large smile on your face! :-) Oh and don't forget to send emails and talk to Cole and Katie about our game night coming up! I think you should all know that Cole is a ddr god... little known secret... but it is literally like watching someone who was BORN to play ddr. It's a life changing experience. Don't miss it. He's better than this guy:

And definitely cooler than these guys, although this is pretty sick:

See you all in about an hour!

Meeting tonight!

Hello lovelies,
Last meeting we threw some questions out there for you all to answer and asked you to brainstorm some guest speakers you would like to have come in and talk to us, so hope you all remember to bring those in tonight! There are no funding requests tonight but there will be plenty of other fun and important things going on like preparations for our mini-no-frills conference coming up and NATIONALS! That being said I will see you all in about an hour and DO NOT FORGET to bring a friend and sign up for that Relay Team!

First Meeting Back!

Hello everyone,
I'm personally really excited that we're getting back into the thick of things and kicking off the year right with a BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday TZ, hope you love the recognition. Other than that I would really love some help from you guys making this blog happen so that means cross discussions between various committee groups on what you're doing, contributions from eboard on things that are going on as well as updates on CCC projects. Because let's get serious, this blog is here for us to maintain more updated information and get more from RHA and also to tell people more about RHA so let's use it! That being said... see you all in 40 minutes!

:-)
