Hey all,
just got out of a meeting with IC's Vice President for student affairs and campus life, and it got me thinking I should remind assembly members, the E board, and residents that I am connected with many people, and this makes it okay to think of me as a resource!
Here's a brief summary of people and groups I stay in contact with:
Student Affairs and Campus Life (SACL)--we talk about issues that affect students living on campus. This includes services, public health, safety, housing issues, and more. If it pertains to students doing any kind of business on campus--this is the connection!
Residential Life--This is a part of SACL, but focuses on anything having to do with the operation and housing in the on-campus experience.
Student Government Association (SGA)--makes recommendations to the administration and keeps in contact with students regarding issues of academics, campus life and current issues
National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH)--participate most directly with the North East Affiliate (called NEACURH). The world's largest student-run organization is a network of student-run residential organizations on college campuses mostly througout the nation. This is a great source of connections to see how problems are solved on other campus and to generate great ideas about creating the best on-campus living experience.
These are the most important ones, but feel free to contact me if you're looking for answers and information!
Cole
